"20 Deadly, Toxic Substances" ?
The Environmentalist
Some years ago, while I was still on Facebook, a committed environmentalist I know posted a link to an article about 20 deadly, toxic substances that had been reportedly found in a vaccine or in vaccines intended for injection in people. I wish now that I had copied the link and the article because I can no longer find them, and so cannot repeat them here. You will have to take my word for what I can remember.
Three of the substances in the list of things found in the vaccine that I do remember were neomycin, sodium chloride, and animal feces. Unfortunately, I can't remember any of the other substances in the list, and can recall the quantity of only the neomycin, although I do remember that all of the quantities in the list were measured in "mcg" and none of the numbers was very large.
Neomycin in Vaccine
The article claimed that 10 mcg of neomycin had been found in the fluid accompanying the vaccine. Neomycin is an antibiotic, which is not something you want to be exposed to unless of course you really need it. The amount, 10 mcg, sounds really significant, until you realize that the unit "mcg" is micrograms — so ten micrograms, or ten millionths of a gram!
g = gram, mg = milligram, mcg = microgram
1 gram = 1,000 milligrams = 1,000,000 micrograms
As it turns out, the standard dose of neomycin for a child is a maximum of one gram per day, one hundred thousand times larger than the amount reported to be in the vaccine solution. Further, the dose for an adult is between two and ten grams, or almost a million times larger than the amount of neomycin said to be found in the vaccine solution. You can probably tell what I am getting at. The amount of neomycin said to have been found in the vaccine is simply too small to have any effect — good, bad or otherwise.
For more about neomycin, see the section on antibiotics in this article about common misunderstandings about vaccines.
Sodium Chloride in Vaccine
Well, we all know that sodium chloride is ordinary table salt. I can't recall now the amount of sodium chloride that was reportedly found in the vaccine solution, but it too was measured in "mcg" (micrograms) and was less than one thousand. Even 1000 mcg is only one milligram, and most prepared foods contain much more salt than that.
We all know people who consume several grams of sodium chloride almost every day, with no immediate ill-effects on their health. Of course, the long-term effects of that can be catastrophic, but we are concerned here with a one-time administration of less than a milligram of sodium chloride. So I arrive at the same conclusion for sodium chloride as I did for the neomycin in the vaccine.
Animal Feces in Vaccine
That anything we put in our bodies might contain animal feces is a horrible thought. The amount of animal feces found in the vaccine solution was again measured in "mcg" (micrograms) and, while I cannot recall the exact quantity, I believe it was less than 100. So we have less than 100 millionths of a gram of animal feces. I probably don't need to point out that this amounts to less than 0.1 milligrams, or less than 0.0001 grams, a very small quantity indeed.
Anyone who owns a pet animal and who thinks about it probably realizes that they are exposed to small amounts of animal feces every day. I don't know that anyone has ever measured it, but having owned several dogs over the years, I am sure that feces collected in very small but measurable quantities on our carpet and on our chesterfield, and even smaller amounts of it were in the air. While playing with the dog we probably got it on our clothes as well.
Like many things in life, early exposure to small amounts of animal feces most probably actually helped us as children to build up a healthy immune system. It is known, for example, that people who grow up on farms have far fewer allergies than people who grow up in cities. So I come to the same conclusion for the reported animal feces as I did for the sodium chloride and the neomycin. The amount is simply too small to be a significant threat!
"The Truth Is Out There!"
When I raised this issue of relative quantity, proportion, and balance with the environmentalist who had posted the link about the 20 deadly, toxic substances that were reportedly found in vaccine solutions, my complaint was dismissed. He told me literally that "the truth was out there" and that I should "do my own research". Well, that is the problem, isn't it.
Forgive me for being blunt. What we seem to have today is a lot of people who don't know very much about science (despite all of their modern education), not even knowing the relative sizes of a microgram, a milligram and a gram, doing their own "research" on the Internet, finding all kinds of nonsense posted by other people who also don't know very much, and drawing their own mistaken and illogical conclusions about things they didn't really understand in the first place. So doing your own research without reference to genuine experts can sometimes (more probably often!) lead to "bad science". Better words for this might be pseudoscience and nonsense.
It is surely a recipe for false "knowledge", which is of course the worst kind of "knowing" anything.
In the case of the 20 deadly, toxic substances said to be found in the solutions of a vaccine administered to unsuspecting people we have simply very small, even microscopic, amounts of common contaminants that are probably also found in many other places around us and in far greater quantity.
Risk Management and Balance
Have you checked your drinking water lately? Did you have a test done on the burger or the vegan salad that you had for lunch yesterday? I think you would be surprised, even shocked, at the results of a few tests for contaminants in many foods and drinks that we take for granted as being safe. And yet we survive, even thrive, in spite of all of these "deadly, toxic substances".
Some research even suggests that we, as living beings, are as strong as we are because of our constant exposure to small quantities of these and other toxins.
So a one-time administration of "20 deadly, toxic substances", all measured in mcg (micrograms), in an approved vaccine, is still going to do you a lot more good than harm.
Now Debunked
The fact that I can no longer find the original article that my environmentalist friend pointed me to probably means that the original findings that the article was based on were either unsupported by further research (that is how science works), or were simply bald-faced false in the first place.
So, please get vaccinated.
Yes, really, please get vaccinated. And pay no attention to the anti-vaccine nonsense.
